I find this site very odd (stumbled across it when I was looking for overalls for my employees). I own a small landscape company and all my staff wear blue Dickies overalls and grey shirts - or no shirt on hot days if they want. Am I to understand there is something wrong with overalls? Not sure why anybody would be afraid to wear a particular style of pants or think people will look at them differently for wearing practical & comfortable workwear.

>> No.5693

There's nothing wrong with overalls. Unfortunately, most people tend to think that overalls only work if you are working and that they aren't about fashion or looking good.

>> No.5705

How do you know what most people think? Do you ask them? I don’t think most people look at overalls any differently from any other pants - except for people on this site.

>> No.5706

@Shaun says "I find this site very odd" 100% agree with you. Most people posting here seem to have some hang up / fetish about overalls. That INCLUDES me which is why I visit!

I am obsessed about overalls. Overalls are my favorite clothing item to wear. Nothing odd about that. Different people like different things. To each their own!

Hi Pete, "nothing odd". If that's so why hide your face?
Thx
Jim

>> No.5710

I agree the last couple of posts. The last person should show his face and be proud to wear overalls. I wear nothing but overalls and they are not for workwear only. I did get a couple of jogger jeans but only use them when overalls are not appropriate(very few scenarios). In general overalls only is the way to go.

>> No.5714

I love the way overalls feel on my body, but I don’t think they look good on me! So I haven't worn them outside of my house.

>> No.5715

I wear Overalls as often as I can, but I have a tendency to "hide" them under a hoodie whenever I'm out and about.
It's not that I don't like how they look, but I have gotten some spiteful comments about looking like a toddler etc.

I work in an office, not the typical place to see people in overalls I suppose.

>> No.5716

That is why when I am not working in an office I wear nothing but overalls and love it. People who make negative comments about them should be ignored as they should not do that. Overalls are great and should be worn out as much as possible.

Definitely, negative comments should just be ignored. But I'm not very good at it

>> No.5718

The overalls look great on you and should be worn outside the house when possible. If it helps any, when I wear mine it get tons of compliments. Nothing negative.

>> No.5719

Okay. Thanks for the advice. I will keep this in mind.

What is the brand of the black overalls you are wearing in post # >>5717 ? They look cool!

>> No.5720

I have seen those before and someone correct me if I am wrong those appear to be the brand of Tommy Hilfiger. I hear those are a good brand although I cannot find anywhere and settled for Levi’s brand which work for me.

>>5719 Thank you Pete!
As anon said, they are from the brand Tommy Hilfiger. More specifically the sub brand Tommy Jeans.

I bought mine on the European online store Zalando, but as most overalls in Europe, they where quite expensive.

As I mentioned I wear Levi’s which are these. Shame they are going off the market. That being said dickies brand and Tommy Hilfiger look good as well.

I also got the dark blue Levi’s before they go off the market. They are about the same color as Pete’s dickies overalls.

I also bought the dark blue Levi's. They are very cozy. The only things I don't like about them is that the rear pants pockets are too low and there is no hammer loop.

>> No.5726

Those are a great brand. It’s too bad they are going off the market as all I wear is overalls anymore. I have begun to stop wearing jeans when I can.

>>5726 [post above]
Cool that you wear only bib overalls.
I am working on my goal to wear only bib overalls as well. How have you done it and can you give me advice to wear only overalls/

>> No.5728

What you do is only have a couple jeans 2 max and stock up on overalls with close to a weeks worth or just a couple that last the whole week(which can include shortalls if you live somewhere that gets hot summers). Then you put your 2 jeans in the closet and only wear jeans on special occasions which in my case only include if I have to go to office for work, a fancy dinner or concert and that’s it. Unless it is one of those scenarios you only wear overalls. It’s perfect. I hope this helps

>> No.5729

Annual brand will work. I just happen to wear Levi’s.

>> No.5730

Rather any brand will work. I just happen to wear Levi’s or rvca

>> No.5731

>>5725 The Levi's look really good, it's too bad they are going off market.
So far I can only recommend Tommy Hilfiger overalls, they are very comfortable.

>> No.5732

They still do have the very dark blue ones but once those are gone that’s it. I own one dark blue, 1 light blue, the super Mario special and the hibal camo and black. I also have rvca blue as well. I hear Tommy Hilfiger are excellent and if mine ever wear out that brand will be next on the list

>> No.5733

As I mentioned above unless one of the situations in my above post arises I do not wear jeans any more which is why I have so many overalls. I only have 2 jeans for those situations. I very rarely wear jeans( maybe once every couple of months if that).

>> No.5734

>>5733 I too have a few pairs of overalls, even though I don't wear them nearly as much as I want to.
I have been trying out different brands and styles to figure out what I like and look good on me.
So far I have Black Dickies, Dark Blue Carhartt WIP, Beige Kaotiko and Black Tommy Hilfiger. And the Tommy Hilfiger is my favourite so far.

>> No.5737

The katikao overalls are good ones and was tempted to buy myself but the reason I held back is the change in currency would cause my bank to charge a huge foreign transaction fee. Darn the bank. As for the black dickies and carharrt wip where can those be found so I can look at an image? I always plan ahead so that when one wears out I replace as I only wear overalls. In addition I am tempted to put suspenders on my Jeans so that when jeans are a must( rare though) It’ll be like wearing overalls.

Will keep in mind if I need more. That being said if I do need more it will be either the Tommy’s or the carharrt wip and have to find a us store to buy or otherwise bank charges foreign transaction fee.

>>5742 Another picture of the Carhartt
They are quite comfortable, but maybe a little rough in the fabric compared to the Tommy's

>> No.5745

Those look good. I found their site directly and they have us pricing meaning no foreign exchange fees. It will be something to consider if I ever need to replace. I will also consider the Hilfiger ones at that point as well as again no foreign prices or transaction fees

>> No.5746

I wish I knew how to buy katikao overalls for future though as they are not in us and my bank charges foreign exchange fees to make a purchase like that.

>> No.5748

Even though all I wear overalls there are two rare occasions that jeans are required and am thinking that for those cases I will wear suspenders which will be like wearing overalls. What do you think? Secondly does anyone know how sizing works for katikao overalls? In us sizes I wear 36 and katikao size chart claims I cannot fit into any size.

Thank you for the advice.
This is something I need to work on. I have about 5 pairs of normal jeans. Following your advice, I have to throw away 3 jeans and replace them with overalls.
This is going to take a few months (overalls are expensive) but it is certainly a fun an exciting journey.

>> No.5750

It is a fun and exciting journey and you will get there to overalls only. Always glad to help. One thing you could consider is if you must wear jeans(meaning one of the exceptions I mentioned earlier) you could attach suspenders so at least you have straps on your shoulders.

>> No.5751

They way I got to 2 jeans only is that 3 of 5 ripped and wore out and just replaced them with and bought more overalls. Did not buy jeans

I love how the Carhartt WIP overalls look, because they have the regular style buckles on the straps (like the Dickies). I don't like the buckles that are on the regular Carhartt overalls.

>> No.5755

Me, too. There are some rare ol-fashioned Carhartt models that have regular buttons and braces which are similar to those on Lee overalls. But I prefer the WIP models, too. Unfortunately, they seem to be out of stock on most providers.
