Opinion: reasons why wearing overalls with the bib down is not the best idea:
*
1.) Wearing the bib down is not practical for work or activities that require bending and moving, as the overalls may slip down. Wearing the bib up and fastening both of the straps helps keep the overalls in place and ensures that the overalls don’t slide down as you move around.
*
2.) The bib often has pockets, so wearing it up allows you to use these pockets to carry items.
*
3.) With the bib down, you lose the additional coverage and protection for your clothes underneath.
*
4.) The unfastened straps could potentially cause a tripping hazard if they're not secured.
*
5.) It increases the likelihood of the bib or straps getting caught or snagged on something since they are loose.
*
6.) When it's cold, having the bib up helps retain body heat by covering your chest and back.

Bib up is the best way i agree. I always use bib to store things and its more comfortable that way. I only wear overalls and its best when overalls are worn up with bib showing. If anything causes bib to be covered like jackets i do not wear as i must have bib showing and visible at all times.Especially when i sleep as more comfortable when sleeping and phone goes in bib pocket at night.

>> No.6736

One important thing to add:
9.) If you are a CIS male and want wo use the urinal, the bib is in the way when it hangs down. One has to hold it up and if it flaps down unexpectedly it makes some unpleasant wet spots.

10.) Conclusion: If you wear your overalls with the bib down, then don't wear overalls. Isnt the whole idea of wearing overalls because you DONT want to wear normal pants but instead wear something that has a bib and straps? People wearing overalls with the bib down makes my blood boil. Wear overalls properly with both straps attached and the bib pulled up high because: 1: you dont like wearing pants and prefer the chest hugging sensation of overalls. 2. you like how overalls look and fit on your body, so never even think about covering them. So, dont abuse your overalls by wearing them with the bib down, either pull them up and wear them properly or donate your overalls to someone who does enjoy wearing overalls properly and wear your boring, ugly normal pants instead.

I added a picture of me wearing my brown Dickies overalls as an example.

>> No.6739

You are absolutely right. Bib must be worn up fully or otherwise no good. That said i will add to that my rule. Bib must be visible at all times when worn. For me i say especially when i sleep as i also only sleep in my dickies overalls. If something is going to cover it up i do not wear. You have the best example of how to wear and those look amazing on you.

I have Dickies also. I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the curve in the middle of the bib part. Maybe if I tighten the straps, the bib will sit flat against my chest? I would hate to have to return these, they're my first pair of overalls I've ever purchased.

>> No.6546

If you close the snap buttion, it would help a bit as well.

>> No.6549

>>6542 // I love how the front of your overalls curves around the chest area! The bib of the overalls has a nice rounded look. Some people might think that wearing overalls makes you look fat. I happen to find the rounded, pear-like shape look that the overalls give your body when you wear them very awesome and attractive. It has to be traditional overalls like Dickies. Fashion overalls with a much narrower or smaller bib don't look as cool, in my opinion.

>> No.6556

To avoid the "tent" in the middle of your overalls, adjust your overalls straps to be as short as possible. You want the bib as high on your chest as possible. The bib should sit nicely on your chest, without the bulge in the middle.

When you have a belly like me, then wearing normal pants is extremely uncomfortable. No matter how I wear my pants, they are always bothering me. Overalls are the only kind of clothing that solve this problem (and coveralls as well). When you are a big boy like me, I recommend to buy traditional overalls like those made by Dickies, Key, Carhartt, etc because these overalls have a long crotch. Overalls which have a long crotch are amazing because your entire belly can fit inside the crotch when you wear them pulled up high on your chest.

As you have pointed out correctly in your post, the overalls look very nice round around your belly and chest. Not only does this look very hot and attractive, it also feels wonderful. With every movement you make, you feel the bib being pulled over your belly and chest. From my experience, you dont experience this nice bibbed feeling over your belly when you are thin and skinny. I enjoy being a big boy having to wear big boy overalls.

After seeing how great those Dickies overalls look, I decided to buy a pair and try 'em out for myself. I ordered 30 in. length. I measured the inseam and it is actually 32 in. I'm 5 ft 9 (about 175 cm) tall. I really love the overalls and plan to keep them. I guess I could always roll up the bottoms, so they're not dragging on the ground.

Wow those Dickies overalls fit you really nice. Beautiful fit. I am curious how the entire overalls fit you. If you like, could you make a picture of you in your overalls with the entire overalls in view? That would be so cool.

Is there a reason that some people wear overalls with one strap left unfastened?

As in, do they just like wearing overalls that way, or is there an actual reason to leave one strap unfastened?

>> No.6732

From what i can tell it’s just peoples preference. Some wear one strap and some wear no straps. Its all preference. Personally i only wear overalls and wear both straps.

That said those look amazing on you. I wear dickies overalls as well and are the best to wear. I have the dark blue ones i wear out and for sleep. Eventually i want to get a black one and a light blue like yours as well. My dickies are mostly for sleeping in but do wear out a bunch.

Hide the bib and straps & no one will know youre wearing overalls!

>> No.6714

I understand it can be daunting to wear them out in public, but after you do, you will feel that sense of euphoria. As long as you wear them proudly with a smile, loving life and showing confidence, and standing by your fashion choice, other people will respect and even admire you! What helped me was wearing them with a shirt or jacket open first, and then when it got warmer, I started wearing them with just a t-shirt. I felt so happy afterwards. :)

>> No.6716

>>6714 Not all of us have the courage to use them freely. Using them under a sweatshirt or jacket is the only way to feel comfortable wearing them, so I respect your choice.

>> No.6717

Oh, I know. I didn't have the courage either. I wasn't confident. It takes a while to train the mind. It took me years. I used to have my shirt buttoned up over it but leave a little bit of bib showing until gradually I started unbuttoning the shirt in public. Then I started wearing the bib down during the summer. I saw a teen boy wearing overalls in a college under his hoodie. One of his straps wasn't connected and it was hanging, and so I just knew he was wearing overalls underneath. He must feel the same about wearing them in public. I think yours look great in your photo and I can tell they suit you really well, open and under a hoodie! It's ok to feel nervous. :)

>> No.6718

When iI first started wearing i was a bit nervous as wellland either covered up or wore bib down. I soon decided i needed to openly wear which i did. I wore in elementary school-high school and then took a small break which i regretted. Once i started working i wore on weekends realizing i was more comfortable in overalls and needed to wear more. Once my switched to wfm i decided i should be overalls only and stocked up so i could do that. Once i did it was suggested to me that i sleep in em as well. From there i switched my dickies to for sleep and all other brands to day wear. Now except for special occasions i wear overalls at all times and it has been great ever since and i get better sleep when in overalls

>> No.6719

If you're afraid of wearing overalls openly and becoming the only guy on the street dressed like that, which you probably will happen, try to learn a bit more about fashion and use that to create your own style that attracts positive attention. And look for overalls with the right fit for you, considering your body type.

There are ways to wear them without looking like a hillbilly or a slob.

>> No.6721

Just wear the overalls. I wear whatever I like and my friends very frequently comment that they “could never pull that off but it looks so great on you”.

I tell them the only reason I can pull it off is that I wear it, and when you wear something with confidence people just assume you know what you’re doing!

It's hard to wear overalls when you're skinny and short! You have to move the strap adjustment sliders and make the straps almost as short as they are able to go.

Thank you!
----
It’s very rare that I happen to see another person wearing overalls. Sadly, very few people wear them these days.
----
I wear my overalls high on my chest. When I wear them that way, the bib sits closely against my chest and doesn’t ‘flop around’ when I am walking or sitting down.
----
When people wear their overalls too loosely (or have the straps adjusted too long) there tends to be a larger gap between their stomach and the bib.

Generally i wear dickies for sleep but every once in a while ill wear out and about. I only wear overalls and have adjusted all straps like your so it ends up being the perfect fit.

Do you wear your overalls around your friends or family?

If so, have your family or friends mentioned anything about your overalls in a conversation?

It has been great. I just recently switched to overalls only and it has been perfect. My friends and family like my overalls and when out in public i get a bunch of compliments. It may take time for the comfort level to get there but it eventually does and you’ll wear more and more.

I decided to wear my overalls to my friends house yesterday. I put on an orange hoodie over them, hoping to conceal the straps and the bib.

When I got to my friend's house, I bent over to remove my shoes. While doing that, my hoodie had shifted, revealing the side buttons on my overalls.

My friend was surprised and asked, "dude, are you wearing overalls?"

"Yeah, I am." I said.

My friend looked surprised and said, "Wow, that's cool. I didn't know you liked overalls."

"Yeah, I do." I replied. "I like
them, but I'm too scared to wear them in public."

Anyways, my friend didn't care or mind that I was wearing overalls.

Do you wear your jumpsuit with your friends or family?

Whenever I have worn onesies with friends or family it has been with a hoodie or jacket over them covering the straps and bib.

If so, has your family or friends mentioned anything about your monkey in conversation?

They have never made any comments, so I understand that they have not noticed, or have not wanted to comment.

Do they support his preference for wearing overalls?

I can't know, they've never told me anything, and since I live alone, I don't think anyone knows that I have overalls.

I wanted to know what your experiences have been. I want to feel safe when I wear my jumpsuit around other people I know.

The only times I have worn the jumpsuits in public have been with strangers, and although I have sometimes been asked about them, I have always received positive messages, at most out of curiosity.
